Edward C. Fritz papers 1950s-2008 1970s-1990s

Edward C. Ned Fritz (1916-2008), was a prominent lawyer in Dallas, a strong advocate for the environment, and a father of Texas conservation. He resided in Dallas, Texas most of his life along with his wife and family. This collection contains personal papers, newspaper clippings, reports and journals about environmental interests, and legal papers organized topically from the 1950s to his death in 2008. Highlights of the collection include a wealth of documents about the Nature Conservancy of Texas, which Fritz founded; the Texas Committee on Natural Resources, for which Fritz was chairman; the Forest Biodiversity and Clear-cutting Prohibition Act of 1989; and the Audubon Society. The bulk of the collection ranges from the 1970s to the 1990s.
